PERLS is a mobile-based micro-learning platform that uses short-term strategies specifically designed for skills-based learning anytime and anywhere, taking advantage of unplanned time during a learner’s daily schedule to enhance and reinforce learning. The learner is empowered to select the learning content that they need, when and where they have time—leading to increased exposure (i.e., time on task) to learning content. This leads to improved training outcomes, greater personnel readiness, and improved training sustainment.

PERLS Technology

PERLS is a maturing application with a focus on serving at scale and making deployment dependable and easy.  Content can be cashed using offline mode, enabling semi-connected users. The adaptive learning delivery system focused on increasing learner effectiveness. PERLS is an easy-to-use, adaptive, micro learning content, recommender platform, easily accessed from a mobile device for anywhere, anytime learning. 

PERLS is instrumented with an "experience Application Programming Interface” (“xAPI”) which allows data on learner progress to be gathered, while interacting with the technology. These data can be aggregated and analyzed, and offer the ability to produce rich, meaningful interpretations (graphics, charts, interactive dashboards) on user progress. Decision-makers can also use xAPI to make interpretations about classes and courses as well as the technology itself.

PERLS Learning Science

PERLS foundation is steeped in the learning sciences which combines Self-Regulated Learning research, data, and practices to help training professionals design instruction and teach better so students can learn more. PERLS draws from disciplines including cognitive neuroscience, learning analytics, data science, behavioral economics, instructional technology, and educational psychology. PERLS uses these fields to help training professionals to create micro-learning solutions that are nimble and powerful enough to meet the ever-changing needs of organizations worldwide.
